A teenager’s bedroom has to do a lot of jobs. It is a place to sleep, study, game, relax, and, every so often, test the structural limits of the furniture.
For this project, Specht created a practical wall-mounted, fold-away desk for a young teen who needed a proper study space without sacrificing valuable floor space in his room.
The desk provides a generous, sturdy work surface for homework, projects and gaming, while the integrated shelving and drawers keep books, stationery and everyday essentials organised and close at hand. When the desk is not needed, the worktop folds away, opening the room back up for everything else teenage life demands.
Built with quality, durability and longevity in mind, the desk is designed to handle years of daily use, from serious studying and long gaming sessions to the occasional bout of teenage “monkeynastics”.
A compact solution that proves good furniture does not need a large footprint. It simply needs thoughtful design, solid craftsmanship and an understanding of the person who will use it.
